Pictures old and new

Since our computer crashed and Blake reinstalled our operating system, I don't know how to get our pictures onto flickr. So, I thought I'd put some here. Enjoy.

Kaleb and I had a fun day at the park a while ago. He was so excited that he was finally tall enough to reach the monkey bars!

Becky and Emily recently went ice skating with the Dixon girls. They had a great time, and can't wait to go again.

Funny Story

I went and got my toes done on Monday with my friend Kym, since she is left for Hawaii Wednesday. When we got back to her house there was a lazy boy chair down the road at the curb with a sign that said "free." I went to check it out, cause I can't pass up free. I sat in it first, and popped the leg thing out. Well, I couldn't get it back in, so Kym sat down. She leaned back and the chair leaned, and kept going and kept going until she was lying totally flat on the ground. I have not laughed that hard for I don't know how long. Tears streaming from my eyes, and sore belly from laughin. She got stuck that way, and started kicking her legs, and I had to catch my breath before I could put some weight on the front of it to get it up. It was hilarious!!! I took a couple of pictures with my cell phone and they turned out great! So funny!

Needless to say I put the "free" sign back on the chair and we walked away. Kym called me later and said the chair was gone. I really hope they tried it out first!

Jog-a-thon, oh boy!

Last friday the girl's school had their annual jog-a-thon. They ran laps around the field. Fave laps was equal to one mile. They both did really well. They each ran for 45 minutes with their classmates. Emily ran 12 laps, and Becky ran 13. Way to go girls!

Kaleb was a great sport! He and I volunteered from 8:00-12:00, which is a long time, especially when you're 4. He did run one lap with Emily, after some convincing, and he had time cheering for the girls and eating popsicles! Emily decided to dump some water on her head when she got hot.

Here's Emily with her class and her teacher after the run. She has a great teacher, who cares about the kids, and helps them to achieve.

Becky ran most of the time with her friend, Deanna. They kept a steady pace, then picked up their speed toward the end.

I'm glad that I was able to help out. I'm proud of you girls!

New Camera, hooray!!

We have wanted a new camera for a long time, and finally got one. Blake could tell you all about the megapixels and the optical zoom, but I thought I would demonstrate why I love our new camera. Here's the first shot:

If you try hard, you can make out the bananas on the counter, right? Well here's a picture of the bananas that I took from the exact same spot as the above picture:

Awesome, huh? When our last digital camera died we used our underwater camera that had no zoom, so I get pretty excited about the zoom capabilities of our new camera. Plus, we bought a memory card that can hold some ridiculous number of pictures, like over 2000, so needless to say we'll be taking a lot more pictures!

St. Patrick's Crazy Hair Day

St. Patrick's Day was also crazy hair day at the girl's school. Unfortunately Becky wasn't feeling well, so she missed out, but Emily designed this hairstyle herself!

March Cookie Madness

This is what I have been and will be doing every weekend this month! Emily and I did 2 sight sales last weekend; Becky and I are doing 3 sight sales this weekend and one more the following weekend. If I look cold it's because I was. Thankfully it's supposed to be warmer this weekend. Emily, as you can see has a great time selling cookies, although she talks so quietly that people have a hard time hearing her. If anyone wants any cookies, just let me know. The sales end on March 28th (10 days, but who's counting?).

Visitors

We had such a nice visit with my mom when she was here. We enjoyed going to the beach, and also going to Disneyland and California Adventure. Unfortunately she and I both got colds toward the end of her visit and lost our voices. It was entertaining to try and talk to each other through our croaking.

Her last day here she and I went down to Old Town San Diego. It's kind of like a pioneer village with old buildings that have been turned into museums. It was so nice to spend the day with just me and mom. We checked out the different museums and shops, bought some roasted almonds and some cheese bread. We wanted to see the Mormon Battalion, but they are in the middle of rebuilding it. There are some great Mexican restaurants in Old Town, so we enjoyed some carne asada tacos which were delicious! I love you Mom, and am so glad you came to see us!

The day my mom left Shaunalei and her children arrived. They were here Thursday through Monday, and the cousins had a blast playing together.

They had a fun-filled busy visit. We went to Chuck-e-Cheese Thursday night; Shaunalei, Kaleb and peter went to Legoland Friday afternoon; Saturday we all enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach. The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. Unfortunately, Shaunalei didn't realize she and her kids were all getting sunburned, so they were pretty sore on Sunday. Sunday evening we all played games like hide and seek, duck duck goose, and red light/green light to celebrate Peter's birthday, along with eating dessert first! They left Monday afternoon after doing some home-schooling.

Kaleb and Peter LOVED playing in the sand on the beach. They buried each other and got covered!

Here they are AFTER they washed off in the ocean! Needless to say it took quite a while to get all the sand out of their ears and hair, but one good thing is that neither one of them got sunburned!

We had a great visit. We now have a week until Dallas and his friends arrive, as well as Michelle and her family. Having visitors is one of my favorite things about living here, so please keep coming!
