Oh What a Trip!

We had such a great trip to Florida for spring break! None of us had ever been there so it was a whole new experience. We loved the weather (70 degrees @ midnight when we got there); we loved seeing the Orlando temple (total bonus that it was across the street from the church we attended); we loved Universal Studios (Harry Potter land was amazing!); we loved lounging by the pool & watching HGTV (got lots of fun ideas for house improvements); we loved the temperature of the Atlantic ocean (73 degrees compared to our chilly 55!). I never know how the pictures will load on here and in what order, but I'll do my best. You should be able to at least figure out where we were, but probably not the right order, which doesn't really matter. Blake now wants to retire to Florida. I reminded him about the hot summers and the alligators (which the kids were bummed we didn't see) and he said maybe just for the winters. I'm sure we won't, but we would love to go there again.

Life

Not a whole lot has happened lately, except some major changes in our callings at church. Blake is now the young men's first counselor and I am the primary chorister. We are both enjoying, and getting used to our new roles. I'm grateful for the time I had to work with the young women. They are beautiful girls, who I really love.

My dad and Carolyn came to visit us a couple of weeks ago. It's always nice to have them here. Last weekend we left the kids with them so Blake and I could get away for our 14th anniversary. It was the perfect weekend!

Another highlight happened this week. On Wednesday I took Kaleb to soccer practice and left the girls home to work on homework. When we got back we walked in and smelled something yummy. They surprised us by making spaghetti, garlic toast and a monkey man of fruits and veggies for dinner! They also had their homework done. Talk about being blessed!

We can't leave Kaleb out. One day this week I went in to turn his light off and put his covers on, and he had fallen asleep with the book of Mormon propped open in front of him. So sweet! I know my kids aren't perfect, but I sure feel blessed to have them!
